

Salsa is a social dance and is all about having fun and enjoying the music! You will learn how to move to Cuban rhythms by combining basic salsa steps and turns with body movement. All turns are danced in circular motions and you will develop leading and following skills. The beginner’s course is taught to a syllabus. There are opportunities to perform, compete, and participate in examinations.
No partner required. Comfortable clothing and footwear required. Preferably leather soled shoes for males and either soft soled or small heeled shoes for females. No dance experience required. No age limits.
Beginners classes (no experience necessary)
Improvers (at least 6 month’s experience)
Intermediate (at least 1 year’s experience)
Advanced (1+ years experience)
This is another fun and exciting style of salsa. You will dance to Latin rhythms but footwork is different to that of Cuban salsa. You will learn basic steps and patterns and motions are linear and this style involves spins.
Requirements same as for Cuban salsa.
Street dance is a funk style dance which is constantly evolving within the hip hop culture. It evolved outside dance studios, and in everyday situations such as the streets and schoolyards. It is a very expressive, creative and improvised style of dance and is a very popular dance style in dance studios today. You will learn energetic and funky street / hip hop choreography to latest hip hop music. There are opportunities to perform and compete.
Comfortable clothing and trainers required. 18yrs and upwards, no maximum age limit. All levels of experience welcome.
General level
At beginners level you will learn basic skills and rhythmic patterns of tap steps and perform them in combinations. At intermediate level you will learn more challenging technique exercises and routines are slightly faster paced.
Comfortable clothing and tap shoes or hard soled shoes required. No age limits.
Whether you danced as a child or always wanted to give it a try after seeing Lord of the Dance and Riverdance, there is something for everyone at this class. Beginners will learn basic steps and technique and will build upon and further develop this technique whilst learning reel, slip jig, treble jig and hornpipe dances. Experienced dancers will learn challenging steps and develop their rhythmic abilities in the heavy dances in addition to learning set dances. There are opportunities to perform.
Shorts, legging or jazz pants are recommended and pumps and heavy shoes required. No age limits.
Learn different dance styles fused into a fitness class. You will work on building stamina whilst toning.
